Four-theme introductory practice is improved, but a small matrix cannot close the full control-level teaching need.
Original editorial teaching and fictional application, informed by the linked primary passages. Compare your reasoning with the model; this is not independently marked learner work, an official examination key or a replacement for the selected course.
What this guide contributes.
Primary route: Selected PECB Foundation. These are selected related scope positions, not a claim that the guide teaches the entire objective/application/statement. Full scope and remaining depth are in the coverage register.

What the source review checked
- Scenario and evidence
- All assigned tasks
- All explained model items
- Self-checks
- Assigned readings
- Unresolved original need
Assigned public passages and original model guidance were checked. No learner work, paid course or full licensed standard was assessed; the remaining-needs section controls any closure claim.

2. Try the fictional case.
Explain why each selected control belongs in the booking-service case
Use Example Studio after the contractor-built feature is introduced. The service still has staff laptops, a small office and printed booking requests; outsourcing some development does not remove those information flows.
Your tasks
- For one example in each theme, state the problem addressed, intended function, implementation idea and evidence.
- Explain the difference between an Annex A reference, the detailed control guidance and a studio-specific control.
- Review the old outsourced-development exclusion and avoid blanket exclusions caused by cloud hosting.
- Identify what is still needed to review the complete Annex A set.
3. Compare your reasoning.
Decide and write your explanation first. Where a table is wider than your screen, focus it and use the arrow keys, or scroll it sideways.
Open explained model guidance
Organizational example A.5.14 information transfer: booking data leaves the service, so recipient/purpose approval and protected transfer are justified. In this case the approval gate aims to prevent inappropriate release; evidence includes approved requests and transfer records.
People example A.6.3 awareness, education and training: staff must recognize and route an export request correctly. Use role-relevant practice with observed results and follow-up. In this scenario it mainly supports prevention, while also enabling detection/reporting.
Physical example A.7.7 clear desk and clear screen: printed requests and displayed booking records can be seen by an unauthorized visitor. Use appropriate storage and screen handling, then inspect whether the fictional rule is followed. Cloud hosting does not remove office information exposure.
Technological examples A.8.3 information access restriction and A.8.15 logging: a server-side permission/approval check aims to prevent release, while export-event review helps detect a bypass. A rollback or access-removal mechanism can help correct an adverse state; the label does not itself prove cause-based corrective action.
EXP-01 is the studio-defined approval mechanism; Annex A comparison helps check relevant control areas, and 27002 supplies deeper control guidance. A control can serve more than one function depending on its design and use.
A.8.30 outsourced development was provisionally excluded while all development was internal. It now needs inclusion/review because the contractor changes that fact. Provider-hosted infrastructure and contractor development are different dependencies. Record the actual status and evidence of supplier responsibilities.
Extend the comparison across the remaining Annex A reference set using authorized material, justify each relevant inclusion/exclusion and record necessary additional controls. Do not extrapolate completeness from these selected rows.
Original editorial theme/function examples; not all 93 controls, complete 27002 attributes, a complete SoA or a publisher-approved taxonomy/key.
4. Check the work, not just the score.
- Can each example be tied to an actual fictional information flow, risk or obligation?
- Are purpose, function and operating evidence distinct?
- Are all four themes represented without presenting them as a complete course?
- Is supplier delivery distinguished from control non-applicability?
- Is a functional 'corrective' label kept separate from the cause-removing corrective-action process?
These checks help you revise an explanation. They do not certify mastery or predict an examination result. Ask a qualified reviewer to assess a fresh case when independent feedback is needed.
5. Keep the limits in view.
Free coverage added
- Selected examples span organizational, people, physical and technological controls.
- Each example has a risk-related purpose, evidence and a provisional function discussion.
- A before/after applicability decision illustrates how a factual change can invalidate a previous exclusion.
Still missing or outside this guide
- Authorized purpose, function, applicability and implementation teaching across the complete 93-control reference set at the selected Foundation depth.
- Complete SoA comparison and justifications; the short example matrix is not the full control set.
- Exact 27002 control attributes and provider classification expectations with authorized feedback.
Payment and access
Selected guidance/examples are free. Full licensed control guidance and the selected paid PECB course are not replaced; first confirm legitimate standards access and control activities already included in the package.
