After this lesson, try to
- Distinguish the two awards, formats and scope.
- Separate optional purchases from credential and course costs.
- Identify terms to reconfirm before purchase or booking.
CC first: scope and format
Dated reference, checked 27 October 2026: the effective September 2026 CC outline has five domains, 19 objectives and 59 printed topic bullets; supplementary official guidance applies AI across those domains. The adaptive exam has 100–125 items in up to two hours, with multiple-choice and advanced item types. Its 700/1000 passing score is scaled and must not be translated into a raw 70% practice rule. Candidates cannot skip an item and return to it. Confirm the current outline and arrangements for the intended date.
Use domain weights for orientation
The September 2026 outline gives Security Principles 24%; Security Governance 17.3%; Identity and Access Management Concepts 20%; Networking and Cloud Security Concepts 21.3%; and Security Operations and Incident Response 17.3%. These rounded weights total 99.9%. They describe scope emphasis rather than fixed item counts or a reason to skip a domain. Confirm the effective outline for the intended exam date.
Study, passing and certification are separate
CC has no work-experience or professional-endorser prerequisite. Commercial teaching is optional; the exam and required maintenance have separate charges unless a valid entitlement applies. At the October 2026 check, the issuer required an application and ethics agreement within nine months after passing, annual maintenance and 45 CPE credits over a three-year cycle. Reconfirm terms and regional costs. A plan, quiz score or exam pass is not itself a claim that ISC2 has granted certification.
The selected PECB Foundation route
Dated reference, checked 27 October 2026: the selected route is the official PECB ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Foundation course, preferably self-study where offered, followed by its exam and award process. The edition-specific v1.5 handbook has two assessed domains and 65 competency/knowledge statements. It describes 40 closed-book multiple-choice questions, three alternatives and one correct answer, with a 70% pass mark; the public listing gives a standard 60-minute duration. Applied understanding and evaluation matter as well as recall. Confirm language, time, materials and any approved accommodation.
Confirm the package and exact award
The selected official course and activities are paid preparation. Training rules depend on the precise award and accreditation route, so an exam-only offer is not automatically equivalent. Public partner-training terms describe the exam, first retake and certificate application as included; confirm the written total, tax, materials, practice, standards access and deadlines before adding fees. The handbook describes a 12-month completion/application cycle from purchase for self-study or eLearning, or course completion for instructor-led delivery. The entry award is PECB Certificate Holder in ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Foundation. It does not confer Lead Auditor, Lead Implementer or organizational certification. Read the applicable PECB ethics terms before accepting them.
Make it your own.
Create a fictional purchase-and-readiness checklist: optional CC teaching, selected PECB package, inclusions and unresolved questions.
Use fictional information. Writing an answer helps expose assumptions; this exercise is not independently marked.
Connect the terminology.
Take the next practical step.
- Official selected-route course and its activities
OFFICIAL NEED REMAINS OPEN · This is a programme requirement, not a missing public reading that supplementary materials can fulfill.
- Build a current-outline practice and feedback record
PARTIAL · NEEDS REMAIN · Short issuer practice, interface orientation and a structured feedback workflow are available free. A complete fresh current assessment remains unverified.
- Current PECB Foundation practice and feedback
OFFICIAL NEED REMAINS OPEN · Five unkeyed public samples, checklist reflections and original editorial cases do not satisfy the need for fresh full-scope verified-key Foundation practice.
What to take further.
Coverage and remaining teaching
- ISO09: Complete the required official PECB Foundation course and its activities through the selected authorized route.
- PRACTICE_CC: No free full current CC assessment with verified coverage of all 19 objectives, all printed scope bullets and all five AI applications was established in this targeted search.
- PRACTICE_ISO: Fresh legitimate PECB-aligned application/evaluation practice spanning both domains and all 65 competency/knowledge statements.
Practice and feedback
- ISO09: Obtain actual provider materials, included practice, feedback and exact standards-access arrangements. Complete the separate assessment and application under current issuer rules.
- PRACTICE_CC: The new workshops and 855-question terminology bank remain formative editorial practice, not a calibrated or official full mock. A learner who needs independent marking or diagnostic feedback must arrange it; this site has not assessed the learner's work.
- PRACTICE_ISO: Authorized verified keys and suitable feedback for a full current Foundation assessment; no free current full official keyed mock was verified. Provider correction of unresolved errors, plus current actual exam arrangements. An Atlas score cannot predict a pass.
Free and paid resources
The linked applied guides and their paper activities are free; no cloud purchase or real-system test is needed. The selected official PECB course remains paid. Full licensed standards require legitimate access; additional purchases depend on what the provider, employer or library already supplies. Official examination and maintenance charges follow issuer terms. Optional paid training or feedback is distinct from these free exercises.
A reading acknowledgement tracks your place; it does not establish competence or course completion.
